The First Slam Dunk, a movie based on the 90s animated series Slam Dunk, has released a new poster and a release date for the first trailer.
The last poster of The first Slam Dunk reveals the near release date of the first trailer. The film is based on the 90s sports animated series slam dunk. It follows Hanamichi Sakuragi (originally voiced by Takeshi Kusao) who is discouraged by grief and reluctantly joins his high school’s basketball team. The show ran from 1993 to 1996, with several films telling more about it slam dunk stories for the duration of the series. Now, this beloved anime returns with its new movie sequel.

Like most other anime and anime movies, The first Slam Dunk will first hit theaters in Japan on December 3, 2022. Unfortunately, it’s unclear when international fans will be able to see the film, but hopefully the overseas release won’t be too far behind. Original creator Takehiko Inoue has returned to Toei Animation for the latest slam dunk story, both writing and directing the revival slam dunk film. He is joined by other talented creatives like The attack of the Titans‘s Yasuyuki Ebara as character designer and animation director, and One piece: Z‘s Kazuo Ogura as art director.
